A Wallet Full Of Words

You’ve got a wallet full of words
You’re going to the shops
Will you buy a big ice-cream
A thousand lollipops??

Each word is worth a million sweets
And treats and rides and fun
Each word you own could buy the Earth
The moon, the stars the sun.

So spend them wisely
Use with care
One-day words
Might become rare!!!!!

Welcome to Planetpoetry
My name is Daniel Phelps.
Here you will find poems about life. Poems to make you laugh and poems to make you think.
A poem tells a story – but each of you will read it in a different way – and with different images in your head…
so the story you hear will be slightly different from the story that everyone else hears.

When you read a poem, STOP and THINK and LISTEN - very carefully.

EAT the poem,
CHEW it,
TASTE it…
Then SWALLOW it (if you like it).

Then see if you remember it. Tell it to your mum. Shout it to the moon and stars. Sing it to the sun. Read it to the postman. Recite it to your mate. Whisper to the dog outside. Tied up to the gate. Then go and write another one. Go and shout it out. That stuff that is inside of YOU.
Go on and get it out !
